How did you get to the drums?
I first got into drumming through samba groups and percussion workshops. And when I really enjoyed it and wasn't too bad at it, my parents let me persuade them to finance drum lessons as well as the piano.
What fascinates you about the drums?
It's just fun. You get to drum on things and it also sounds cool. Besides, you're usually the loudest in the band!
What is the most important thing for you when practicing?
When practising, it's important to have a bit of fun. The best thing is to drum away before you do an exercise.
What do you pay particular attention to when teaching?
I make sure that we don't get bored. Sometimes it's hard to concentrate and then we can do something else or play a rhythm game.
What has been your greatest experience as a musician so far?
My greatest experience as a musician was a jazz concert I got to play with friends last year. We all worked on the very complicated pieces for a very long time and then had a really great concert where everyone went above and beyond.
On which equipment do you prefer to play?
I really play on everything. The equipment doesn't matter.
What else is important to you in your life besides music?
I love table tennis! Without music I would probably already be at the Olympics ^^
