Interview
Children approach music in a completely natural way. As adults, it's our job to put ourselves in the child's shoes. How does it think? How does it learn? How can I present a topic in such a way that it is age-appropriate and understandable? And preferably with a good pinch of fun!
What do you like about running the workshop?
Somewhere deep inside me, I've remained a child. During the workshops, I not only get to see first-hand how much fun children can have learning, I also dance along with my own inner child every time!
What do you look for when leading a workshop?
A good mix of dance, singing, instruments and initial music theory. A balanced group dynamic and leading the workshop with empathy, creativity and fun.
How did you get into early music education?
I attended a music garden myself as a small child. This paved the way for my love of music! I then deepened my knowledge during my music studies and later as a mother myself. I have now been running early music education courses for over 12 years and love it as much as the first day!
What has been your greatest experience as a musician so far?
I love every aspect of making music. From the song idea at 1:30 in the morning that gets you out of bed, to singing 100 harmonies, to playing with other like-minded musicians, to sharing with the audience. Music gives you and brings others so much at the same time.
What else is important in your life besides music?
My family, being a mom, traveling and finding peace in everyday life to enjoy every moment.
