Interview
What fascinates you about jamming with others?
First and foremost, of course, it's great fun. It is also the best way to express yourself more freely on the instrument. The exchange in direct interaction with others often helps you to adopt a different perspective and to make your own playing more versatile. The situation inevitably teases things out of you that would otherwise not have come to light.
What do you like about leading the workshop?
The interaction between the players and improvisation are in the foreground, the tasks leave a lot of freedom and therefore it is always exciting to see what actually happens in the workshop and where ideas develop.
What do you pay attention to when leading the workshop?
A relaxed atmosphere in which everyone feels comfortable playing in front of the others and trying out their instrument, playing time divided as fairly as possible and a selection of tracks that everyone is interested in.
What equipment do you prefer to play on?
With the aim of sounding as good as possible and feeling comfortable, I naturally play on my own equipment, but in order to try things out, learn new things and leave my own comfort zone, I prefer to try out equipment that is unfamiliar to me.
What has been your greatest experience as a musician so far?
My greatest experience as a musician is always when I get into such a flow that my own playing surprises me.
What else is important to you in your life besides music?
Sport, friends and family.
