Interview

How did you get to the ukulele?
I always wanted to play the guitar - I don't know why. I got my first electric guitar after 2 years of playing classical guitar and haven't let go since. I came to the ukulele through teaching, which was quite helpful in a studio session the other day.

What fascinates you about the ukulele?
I am always fascinated by the possibility of sharing feelings and emotions with the ukulele without words.

What has helped you the most when practising?
I like to combine practising with playing and listening to songs, from which I then build exercises. And the metronome!

What do you pay particular attention to when teaching?
It's important to me to keep the fun in the first place. Finding songs that you can play quickly, that you like and from which you learn (sometimes unconsciously) new techniques and tricks.

What has been your greatest experience as a musician so far?
It's a difficult question, because I've had very nice experiences with all kinds of bands. But the greatest moments are the ones when I get the feeling of becoming one with the music on stage.

On which equipment do you prefer to play?
I love playing with my Gosia Stonecaster through a Supro amp. I can play almost any style with it.

What else is important in your life besides music?
I like to do sports and spend nice evenings with my friends.
